I'm off to my last chemo today...soon to feel better....still feeling the effects of the last chemo...mixed emotions today...not even sure how to explain it...

friend Beth Wilcox passed away...

...just found out a long time friend passed away from Ovarian Cancer...her memorial is tomorrow and I can't be there due to my treatment...she lived each day with love and a zest for life and because of her spirit and the refusal to let Ovarian cancer define her...I will continue in her honor to live each day fully and find a way to express love at the deepest level for what is this life for other than to find that place in all of us...

although I am sad ...I am also lifted by her example..

To you Beth Wilcox...thank you.

NEW results and future treatments...

Greetings!

GREAT NEWS!!!!! My ca-125 is now 11...awesome!!!

I just got home from my 6th IP (belly) BIG chemo and next Friday completes the 6th cycle with the small chemo...I have a few minutes before the sofa is my friend again...for a while....it's (the symptoms) coming on as I write...it's ok...I'm still celebrating!!!

I am DONE!!!!!!

I will have a procedure called a saline flush and retraction(not scientific terms) to see if any cancer cells are pulled through from the belly port site. It may or may not be accurate...just a tool.

I will be moving between September 15-30 ...in this general area...good feelings about the move...at least I will be stronger from this last chemo!

Mid-October I will either have surgery just to take the belly port out ...or/ and also have a laperscopic look at the peritoneal cavity ...I will also have a PET Scan before surgery is scheduled.

Much is coming my way but it is also a time to celebrate...the statistics for re-occurrence again are quite high...rather than hope it doesn't happen...I will continue to embrace what is put on my path and work with it rather than try to get away from it...I also figure that statistics are just interesting data and I may be in the percentile that is healed...I am in the percentile that is Healed...I am healed!

I'm working on how my brain relates to cancer or any disease or difficulty...a great book (regular or/and audiobook)

Sakyong and Pema LIVE

I just participated online "LIVE"...which allowed me to view and hear Sakyong yesterday and Pema today each giving a 90 min plus dharma talk....since I wasn't able to go in person..this was a wonderful gift!!! This was from the retreat from Shambhala Mountain Center...

I am reminded (not that I ever forget) about how Powerful Pema is...she is my true teacher and I am so grateful for her in all of our lives!!!

Thank you for visiting my Blog...this blog was for me to to be able to communicate to you about my progress with the treatment for Ovarian Cancer. Although, I had been cancer free for almost 2 years...the original cancer recurred in January 2009 and I just completed treatment for a second time. March 2010...I have just found out that I now have a third recurrence of cancer and MET to the liver. I am currently investigating alternative treatments for healing. I feel healed already!

I just returned from one month at Optimum Health Institute and will be continuing with a similar diet regimen ... with added support using supplements from holistic docs whom I respect and trust...a day at a time...with deep joy and gratitude and a peace I have never known before...I am healed! Whatever needs to happen next will show up and I'll embrace all that needs to come my way...for the greater good of all beings in this world...may all of our experiences show us a deeper level of love! 5/10/10

Well here we are on 5/22/10 and I am getting ready to leave for Mexico to Hope 4 Cancer in Playa Tijuana...I will be there for 2 weeks and return with home treatment for several more weeks and then an ongoing monitored program for 3 months or more from there. If all works out in my favor ....then I'll just proceed from that protocol...if I need another treatment plan...I will open my heart and my mind to what is best at that time. Please hold me in your thoughts and continue to send me love and healing as you have always done...thank you for everything...see you very soon!

I returned from Mexico with a very rigorous home treatment plan...I'm very hopeful and ready to embrace this beautiful life! My experiences in Mexico can be read on my blog entries ...it was and is amazing and I'm very committed to healing! Thank you to all who are assisting me financially as I continue this healing path...I'm so grateful and ready to dedicate myself to this path not only for my well being but for the health of all of us...as I learn and grow...I can share with all of you!

Starting chemo again...ca-125 went from 800 to 8500 in 3 months ...the metastasis that had shown in my liver was not seen on the recent pet scan...at this time...the cancer that has spread is still in the abdominal cavity...this treatment is recommended by the alternative medicine doctors in Mexico and my Dr here...I feel like it's a good choice for now...as long as I'm growing and able to share...it's all good...

Ca-125 has dropped from 8500 to 3200 from only one cycle of chemo...second cycle starts tomorrow...

started second cycle of chemo today...

10/10/10

Third cycle of chemo started on Friday 10/8/10...I also received blood work this week
ca-125 is down to 2600

11/11/10
Fourth cycle of chemo begins...CA-125 will not be done until next cycle due to the bowel obstruction which will give a false higher number

12/09/10

Ca-125 is elevated again 7000....should be under 10.....day by day....feeling the love...on my way to chemo cycle 5 #2...know more soon..

Ca-125 has dropped back down to 3900 and the MRI shows diminished cancer in certain areas...it has been decided to stay on the same chemo for now...chemo cycle 6 starts this Friday.

Ca-125 is 9000...more tests will be run to decide on future treatments...for now, current chemo schedule for cycle 8 will begin this Friday.

2/24/11
MRI continues to show diminishing cancer...chest x-ray is clear. It is a mystery why my ca-125 is rising.

4/1/11
ca-125 is 16,000 more tests will reveal the next step...currently on the second day of the 9th cycle of chemo

Currently, I will not be teaching as I learn to adapt to being with the hospice care...as my body begins to heal a bit more...I will be able to add some work hours back in to my schedule.
